How to Create the Fairy or Pixie Look

Carrying off the look of a fairy or a pixie for a cosplay event, a fancy dress party or just for daily fashion will require a new focus on your presentation, so that you can take on the fey look. The aim is to appear mystical, untouchable and other-worldly. By focusing on clothing, makeup, accessories and actions, you can create a fairy or pixie look that will become a part of your very own fashion statement.

Part One of Four:
Clothing
Edit

  1. 1
Fleck the outfit you choose and wings with paint to add your own color theme. Use your imagination in achieving this or see the image above.
  2. 2
Wear a tank top or a leotard as the base layer. If you choose the tank top, you might consider wearing a floaty silky shirt. This makes a very good effect. If you are more sporty, wear a striped shirt under it. Grey and red is a good combo or grey and blue. The leotard will carry itself without other additions clothing-wise but you might like to decorate it as in the image above.
  3. 3
If you want, wear leggings. Select matching colors with your outfit.
  4. 4
Wear light skirts that billow softly. If you prefer the pixie look, prefer tighter pants and leggings instead of a billowy skirt. Wear ballet flats either way.

Part Two of Four:
Makeup
Edit

  1. 1
Prepare your eyes. As a base for your eyes: put a dab of liquid concealer on your eyelids, blend all over with a brush, then set with the same powder.
  2. 2
Add white pearly eyeshadow and apply it on your top lid. Do not blend up to your browbone, you want to look very subtle. Then brush shimmery pale pink shadow on the inside corner of your eye.
  3. 3
Put on a little mascara. Use either black or dark brown.
    • Add a little mascara to the end of your eyelashes in the corners. Next to the corners in your eyes, add a little cosmetic glitter. Do be careful not to get it in your eyes! Unlike fairy dust, this will irritate. Apply a little foundation slightly darker than your skin and a light blush pink blush.
  4. 4
Use chocolate brown eyeliner to put on a little cat eye. Only line the very end of your lid.
  5. 5
Have good skin. Don't slather on foundation though. Get a good liquid concealer and apply it to any dark circles and blemishes you have, then blend it with a wide, flat brush. Add powder that's a little lighter than your skin tone to set the look.
  6. 6
Find a light bronzer and pink blush. Suck in your cheeks and apply the bronze along your cheekbones. Then smile and put the blush on the apples of your cheeks.
  7. 7
Use a colorless lip balm and gold cream eyeshadow on your lips. Put on the lip balm, then get some gold shadow on your finger and pat it on the center of your lower lip, then your upper lip.

Part Four of Four:
Deeds and Actions
Edit

  1. 1
Be kind. If you see someone getting bullied, stand up for them.
    • If you see your friend unhappy just ask why and try to figure things out.
    • Don't get involved in fights or be mean to others.
  2. 2
Stay smart. Try to get as much education as possible.
  3. 3
Be yourself and an independent person.
  4. 4
Walk smoothly as if gliding. Point out the flowers and wildlife around you. Take time to kneel down and touch flowers, rub stone sculptures, and try to be an environmentalist.

TipsEdit

  • If you are doing the faerie look, you can use the pixie makeup too. It works for both. Just remember, faeries generally are more colorful.
