Do you have an old bicycle rim hanging around your house? Are you a bike enthusiast looking for a new décor for your ceiling? Why not make a chandelier from an old bike rim?
StepsEdit
-
1Find an old bike rim.
-
2
-
3Clean it thoroughly. Be sure to remove any dirt, grease and rust that remains on the wheel.
-
4Obtain a pendant lighting kit.
-
5Cut a shower curtain rod so that it is about 20 inches (50.8 cm) long (depending on the height of your ceiling)
-
6
-
7
-
8Make a knot (wire) on the end of the rod to secure the wire. This will prevent the parts from moving out of position when the chandelier is hung.
-
9Screw a hook into your ceiling.
-
10Tie a knot or secure the wiring with a ziptie. Connect the wire to a power source.
-
11Screw a bulb and turn it on to test. Congratulation, you're done!Advertisement
